Lauren is a teenager girl whose life almost fell apart when she was little; now, as a teenager she feels confident that she can go back to the place where it all went down, but as soon as she arrives, things start getting really creepy really fast. When Lauren was a little girl, her mom would tell her all these things that supposedly happened to her at night, like “invisible” people tying her scarves and necklaces in knots. She also claimed that things on night stand would start moving. Some of these things really scared Lauren but her mother was almost all she had because her dad is the state senator and is almost never around.
Even though Lauren’s mom would sometimes involuntarily scare her, Lauren would always look past it and think of her mom as a normal person. So one summer when Lauren and her mom went to visit her aunt Jule and two cousins (Nora and Holly) her mom and aunt got in a fight. That didn’t really bother Lauren though, so she went on playing with her cousins, mostly with Holly though, because Nora was younger and not her age. Nora was nice enough though, and was completely normal except for her phobia of water which nobody thought anything of.
So on one horrible summer night, Lauren awoke to commotion happening down by the lake. She wordily crept down the stairs and snuck outside to see her panicky aunt yelling at her older cousin to call an ambulance and a terrified yet amused looking Nora staring into the water. She then saw her aunt slowly stepping out of the water holding Lauren’s dead mother in her arms. After that night Lauren hadn’t returned. Until now. She had to wait 7 whole years until she was ready, now everything is making her second guess.
